Lupita Nyong'o may have less airtime on the new Star wars movie. According to reports, director of Star Wars: Force Awakens was not impressed with the Kenyan Oscar winner's acting performance and cut her scenes from the movie after reports of her "struggling with role". Lupita had several scenes in the movie as Maz Kanata. But director JJ Abrams was not impressed with her acting performance and has been forced to cut several of her scenes out of the final version of the movie.

According to The Sun, he was left unconvinced by what he saw and ordered for Lupita Nyong'o's dialogue to be re-recorded. A source told The Sun: "The CGI seemed to be what Lupita struggled with, perhaps because it meant she felt less of a connection to the character. There was a general sense that something wasn't working so a lot of her scenes ended up being either re-worked or cut. Unfortunately she just didn't end up delivering.

"It does happen in Hollywood, but not usually with Academy Award winners. Her part in the final film will now be a lot smaller than was initially expected.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens will be released in UK cinemas on December 17th 2015.
