OH TV were proud to sponsor NewGen Nigeria UK, who hosted their Official Nigerian Independence Gala 2015 on Saturday 3rd October 2015 at the Porchester Hall, marking the 55th year anniversary for Nigeria’s independence since 1960. The hosts for the evening were the talented, Tolu more commonly referred to as Tboy, and Remel London - who welcomed over 200 guests, including chairwoman from the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation, Nigerian business mogul and entrepreneur Shina Peller, MD of The Voice Newspaper, George Ruddick plus more.

The gala was organised in order to celebrate Nigeria in all its growth and resilience over the years, in an unconventional style - bringing an evening highlighting high achieving and young aspiring Nigerians in the UK, from the likes of motivational speakers Joshua Genero and Sotonye Deru, singer Debbie Aramide, afrobeats artist Martel B, and talented saxophonist - Sam Fred, plus many more.

Media partners and sponsors including Lebara, OHTV, The Voice Newspaper, BEN TV, Nigerian Watch, BlackNBold Magazine, ColourChase Cosmetics, The Guardian, plus more filled VIP seats as they prepared to indulge in the culture and celebrations of the night.

The night was opened by singer, Rotimo, who stunned the audience during his performance of the national anthem. The evening also provided fashion showcases of both contemporary and native designs by MadameOlfa and CrysChris and was further brought to life with performances from GOP dancers and Afro Brit artist Vicky Sola, with their energy and vibrancy.

“I am truly happy that the evening has finally come together. The venue was stunning, the performances amazing, and the guests looked beautiful! A big thank you to all who have come on board to support NewGen Nigeria UK and celebrate with us. Here’s to Nigeria at 55.
