MORE THAN 9O KILLED IN ACCRA GAS STATION FIRE

Many parts of Ghana’s capital have suffered severe floods that occurred after the torrential rain on Wednesday, the rain began around 5:30pm and stopped at approximately 11:15pm but left in its wake a disaster of unimaginable proportions.

Residents from all over Accra have been left in deep distress as they watched their homes become flooded and climbed on rooftops to save their lives.

Following the flooding’s, more than 90 people have been killed in a fire at a gas station in Acrra as they tried to seek shelter from the torrential rain.

There are fears that the death toll could rise as the search for bodies continues.

President John Mahama has visited the burnt-out petrol station and has appealed for calm as the authorities try to cope with the aftermath of the fire and the flooding.

Weather forecasters are saying that more rain is on its way.
