UGANDAN MUSICIAN AK47 DIES

Emmanuel Mayanja Hummertone (aka AK47), a Ugandan dancehall musician and younger brother to singer Joseph Mayanja aka Chameleone reportedly died on Monday night at Nsambya hospital after falling in a bathroom. It is not confirmed what the cause of death was.

Manager, Robert Nkuke said the deceased was found at around 8pm and rushed to Nsambya Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The body has been taken to Mulago Hospital for a post-mortem after which it will be taken to National theatre for viewing.

Dancehall artist was sibling to exceptionally talented family, many artists who knew him shared their kind words and blessings to the young artist.

According to Pius Rukabuza, commonly known as DJ Pius, of Two4Real, during his last visit to Rwanda, the late Ak47 had promised to drop his first album and was encouraged to find out that his songs were playing in Rwanda.

"He was one of the most humble Ugandan Artistes I've met. He was a darling to all his brothers because he never involved himself in their fights.

Artiste Diana Teta also expressed her shock following the death of the dancehall singer which has shaken the showbiz fraternity in Uganda.

"I am terribly shocked. I didn't know him personally but it is sad to lose someone with a great talent. It also makes us realise how short life can be. Our condolences to the bereaved family," Teta said.

The singer has left Ugandan fans and fans all over the world mourning his loss, known for his humbleness, AK47 will be remembered as a young, gifted and modest artist.
