On Thursday 5th March Liberia released the last Ebola patient, records say that it is the first time in nine months that Ebola has gone a whole week without new infection. The 58 year old patient who was discharged from the Chinese-run unit was presented with flowers on her release, she said “I am one of the happiest persons on earth" feeling thankful that with the help of her doctors and life support team that she was able to be ridden the fatal disease.

The vast majority of Ebola victims were from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Although there is no reported new disease outbreak in Liberia it is said that populations are so mobile in the regions it could easily re-import, so we must still be weary and cautious of illnesses in these areas. "We have to get down to zero in all three countries before we can consider this thing beaten." Said spokesmen Greogory Hartl.

The country has to have no new cases for 42 days for the country to be declared Ebola free. Ebola is still far from eradicated in Sierra Leone, which recorded 81 new cases, including 26 in the capital Freetown. Due to the mass deaths still in other countries, ‘Unsafe Burials’ still Continue, with 16 reported cases.
